English - 30 sec film

In the last  couple of weeks we have been filming our film.

  Water pollution is the contamination of water.It is when contaminants are introduced in the natural environment.It has been polluted by the dairy farms and cow poo.we need to clean up the lakes and rivers because  people who live near them get affected.They need to fish and help their family.It is a bad thing because it is damaging the fish and other resources around it. It is not safe for us humans and animals to use because it is contaminated.



The things that cause water pollution is dairy farms, sewage , garbage, animal poop and liquid waste of households.This damages the water so people can't use  it anymore unless it gets cleaned. Dairy farmers cause water pollution by fertilizers and manure that can run off into the lakes and rivers. People have littered and dumped waste into the water which causes water pollution.

If water pollution continues  it is going to be harmful to the health of us humans and animals.  Water pollution can cause many effects on the environment  like acid rain and oil spills. Water pollution doesn't just affect the environment it also affects people and other animals. People can't drink polluted water, and neither can animals. The crucial solutions to this problem ultimately comes down to personal responsibility because every one of us is to be blamed for the pollution of water
Don’t pour oil down the sink, don't flush pills in the toilet etc.Avoid using garbage disposal keep solid wastes solids.make compost pile from vegetable scraps.

English 30 sec film

  The project overall it was fun and exciting as we were able to move around school and blog knowing that we have the permission to do so. We managed to film our scenes in a reasonable amount of time and mostly I was the one who did the editing as none of my members don't really have that much experience in editing videos.


 In my point of view. I currently like how the project went out, as I enjoyed every aspect of it and had fun along with the fact that we had the privilege to film. Most of the time Rusi and Zapa only did their job in the filming part and then they left the editing part to me.



 In which it didn't really bother me as I liked editing, For the most part, I did enjoy it but there were challenges that really did give me a hard time like giving out some of my time at home to finish everything.We

Since Zappa isn't here. for now, I think both of us are going to edit the clips we currently have and try to put it in the right place so that the upcoming clips we are still going to make are going to fit in.

For today we plan to refilm the parts that are either not correct or if the footage is laggy. For the place, we decided to film the same spot we did the breakout space and scene we are trying to refilm is the part when the troublemaker gets the referral card.

We managed to refilm the parts we were not so impressed about and currently now we plan to add the sound effects that are needed for some parts

This week i have been working on how colour  is used to make two worlds. 

Coraline's Real Room

Colours - Purple,Grey,Natural light

Director - Shows us that Coraline's parents are to busy to  spend time with Coraline.

Colours - Artificial  light,Purple
Feels - Warm,Cosy,Happy,Safe and welcoming

Other mother's World

Colours - Green,Artificial light  
Feels - Creepy,unsafe and mysterious
Director - Shows us when the other mother was making the creepy doll to spy on Coraline.

Gymnastics term 3

The last few weeks we have been focused on gymnastics in P.E.


The skills that I already had  when i started gymnastics were a forward roll, walking backward on the beam, a back drop on the trampoline,walking forward on the  beam and jumping on the trampoline.
I have improved at doing a flip on the mini tram, walking on the beam and doing a back flip on the trampoline.In the future i would  like to do a swing on a bar swing.

The theme of looks can be deceiving is shown through the gradual change of the other the other mother from a honey sweet women to a vinegar sour metal spider.At the start of the film the other mother appears short curvy and wearing the same clothes as coralines real mother.This makes the audience feel safe ,happy and relaxed towards the other mother.The director did this to show us that coraline feels at home with the other mother in the other world.However the other mother changes slowly throughout the film until she  finally becomes a skeletal,metal spider who wants to trap coraline in her other world.When we first see the other mother she is in a warm orange light which makes her seem evil,grotesque and horrifying. Selick shows this changes  to help the audience understand that the other mother was not who  she really appeared to be and this shows the theme,'looks can be deceiving'.

Colour palette - the colour used in the scene

       The colour palette is predominantly grey.

Feels-cold,large,lonely,boring,cluttered,old,cramped.
Director - Shows us Coraline is unhappy there shows us the real father is to busy for Coraline.


Other world office -
colours - yellow vibrant,red orange,orange light,artificial warm light.

Feels - happy,safe,warm,clean,welcoming,perfect
director - Coraline is happy there.
                shows us the other father wants to spend time with Coraline. 


sexxy essay:
 Colour is effective in helping to create the two worlds and show the theme 'looks can be deceiving'.The real world study uses a colour palette predominantly of greys, white and blues. This creates a cold,lonely and boring atmosphere.The director did this to show that Coraline is unhappy in the real world and that her real father is to busy to spend time with her. The use of a cold natural light reinforces this mood. Juxtoposed to this is the use of colour in the other world study. Vibrant reds,oranges and yellows make the room feel warm , safe and cosy. Henry Selic used this palette to show that Coraline is happier in the other world where the other father has time for her.This shows that looks can be deceiving because Coraline mistakes the bright perfect world for a safe place when really it is a trap.

In the opening scene music is used effectively to create an atmosphere. For example, tempo,chords and dynamics make it feel like a creepy Lullaby.Tempo starts slow but gets faster which builds intensity.It is in the minor key which makes it feel sad.This makes   the audience think the film will be mysterious, scary and creepy.

We meet the cat and Coraline
Coraline has a yellow coat, blue hair, yellow boots, and everything looks dark.
The lighting starts to get darker.

Charlotte's Web

   Charlotte's web theme- Friendship

We have just read and watched Charlotte's web and our teacher has told us to pick a theme and write about it. The theme I choose is friendship. In this story, I'm going to be talking about friendship and what it means to me. What does friendship mean to me? Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two people.


In the story, we witnessed Wilbur who was a lonely little pig just hanging by himself in his pigpen and Charlotte who was a friendly little spider. We witnessed a lot of things in the story about the two, they interacted with each other and we got to see when Charlotte saved Wilbur from getting killed by Mr. Zummerman. We all know how great of a friend Charlotte is and we all got to see the teamwork of the farm animals helping their dear friend out and saving him from being killed.

Wilbur being saved by Charlotte means a lot of things, they helped each other on their own journey and being there for each other. How I relate to this. I think I can relate to this because when I first moved to Hornby high I was lonely and shy because I didn't know anyone at the school, but then I started talking to some of my classmates and now we are very close mates.

English-Mythology

The last couple of weeks my class has been working in different workshops.The workshop that i did was Mythology and we learned how to make fable stories and this is my fable story.

 Characters:Rat and dog

The rat was trying to survive his rough and hard life,as he was wondering around looking for food and water,he came across a bowl of water that  had a note beside it that said do not drink.The dog who is the owner of the bowl of water ,went for a walk as he starts to come home he see's the rat taking a drink of the water even though it said not to drink it.The next day comes the dog was walking around when he saw the Rat and starts to walk over to him. The dog said that he saw the rat drinking the water and the rat said that he didn't drink the water when the dog clearly seen him.Then the dog decided to lie to the cat and said that the  water is  poisoned, the dog lied to see if the rat is going to drink the water again.So now because of his dishonesty the rat thought the water was poisoned and he never drank the bowl of water ever again.

Moral of the story:Honesty is the best policy.

What am i learning? I am learning how to write a fable story.

How does this work show my learning?I learnt that a fable needs a Moral and i included that to my fable.

What am i wondering?I think in the future i need to make the story more happy.

 Who is the character? My character is king koopa from the Mario series, he is the leader of the turtle koopa race.He has been in the Mario series  since his first appearance.

Explain-Therefore the reader is shocked to discover Antonio and Shylock can come to an agreement about money lending,It is also shocking because when Shylock calls Antonio out for the way he treats him,Antonio tells Shylock that he will spit on him and call him a dog again This treatment is not usual between people who make agreements.

Link-With treatment like this from Antonio towards Shylock,and a promise to be just as cruel in the future,it is shocking that they both agreed to the bond.

outline- William Shakespeare The merchant of Venice a key moment  that shocked the reader was when  Antonio agreed to a bond of  pound of flesh if he couldn't  pay back Shylock .This was shocking because Antonio hated Shylock and promised to mistreat him in the future,Antonio was  willing to die for bassanio even though he begged him not to take the risk. Finally ,because Shylock had never shown mercy and did not at the trial.For these reasons it is clear that this moment was shocking to the reader.

Many characters hold anti Semitic views, but in places Shakespeare lets Shylock speak from the heart and suddenly we see him as a human, not a stereotype.
  • In A1S3 when Shylock offers to lend money without interest some argue that he is being kind, do you agree?He wanted revenge on Antonio

  • In A3S1 Shylock suffers great losses. Look for suggestions of his sorrow, loneliness and feelings for his dead wife.He's daughter ran away,and he lost his ducats

  • In A4S1 when Shylock is sentenced, we again feel pity for him. Why is this an achievement for Shakespeare (consider his audience) He was being selfish and was only thinking of himself

  • The Merchant of Venice is considered a comedy, however the character of Shylock makes it feel more of a tragi-comedy. Do you feel he is portrayed more as a villain or victim. Write a paragraph explaining your thoughts with supporting evidence from the play.I think he was a villain cause he was only thinking about himself.He didn't care much of his daughter when she ran away but he cared about his ducats and jewels.He's a selfish man cause he only cares about himself and his ducats and Jewels.

  • It has been argued that the play should be renamed ‘The Jew of Venice’. Why do you think this is? Would it change your initial view of the play? Would it be a more suitable name? It wouldn't change anything because Shylock is one of the main characters and he's most talked about in the story.

Personality of a Dictator, I believe that most dictators are people that use force and uses other ways to gain power. From my understanding of reading and watching world war's Dictator [Like Stalin and Hitler] they seem to have the traits of a person who likes to fight and start or be part in Wars. Example Stalin raised in the Soviet ranks because of his communism skills by persuading people about his thoughts. Therefore I mostly think that a Dictator is mostly a Force and Power Hungry person.
