An index, or power, is the small floating number that appears after a number or letter. Indices show how many times a number or letter has been multiplied by itself. Maths. NumberIf a constant or variable has an index as ‘0’, then the result will be equal to one, regardless of any base value.

 Sine Rule

The law of sine or the sine law states the ratio of the side length of a triangle to the sine of the opposite angle, which is the same for all three sides. It is also known as the sine rule.

 THis is the formula of the sine rule asinA = bsinB = csinC.

Basic triangle facts - Maths

 Triangle facts

The sum of all the internal angles of a triangle is always 180o no matter how the triangle is constructed.

The length of any side of a triangle is shorter than the sum of the other two sides. 

A triangle can always be split into two right triangles no matter how the triangle is constructed.

Basically, there are 6 different types of triangles, 3 of them are classified according to the internal angles and the rest of them are classified according to the lengths of the sides.

 How to label a triangle

In any right-angled triangle, ABC, the side opposite the right angle is called the hypotenuse. Here we use the convention that the side opposite angle A is labeled a. The side opposite B is labeled b and the side opposite C is labeled c.

PPE

 Personal Protective Equipment.

What is PPE?  PPE is what you need to wear to protect yourself when working in workshops or construction sites.

What are the basic requirements for PPE here at the HHS workshop? Safety glasses, ear muffs, shoes, and overalls.

 Hazard Identification & Action

A hazard can be described as anything that could cause you and others any form of harm.

A hazard that can cause you serious harm is described as significant.

Once a significant hazard has been determined the school must take “all practical steps” to eliminate, isolate or minimize the significant hazard.

Here are some examples: Identify the sign, Describe what it means, Explain what action you would take 

Wet surface -  be careful of wet surfaces - walk around the wet surface	no phones - not allowed to use the phone - don’t use your phone
Fire hose - use fire hose when there is a fire - I would use the fire hose when there's a fire	Eyewash bottle - informed to wash your eyes - wash my eyes
Earmuffs - wear earmuffs when in workshops - wear my ear muffs	Construction site - keep out if your not authorized - I'm not going to enter the construction site

General - 

List safety points for your work area

1. use tools and machines properly - Always use tools properly so you don’t get injured from using them

2. wear your safety gear - PPE is always required when in workshops or building sites

3. be aware of your surroundings - Always look around you for hazards so you don’t hurt or injure yourself

List 4 electrical safety points when using a mains powered drill

Don't use near water

Turn off at the outlet before you pull the cord out

Check the safety tags

Make sure the cord is intact, no tears or visible wires.

Keep the cord out of the way were people would be walking

1.Wear PPE

2.Avoid baggy clothes

3.Use a enter punch to start holes

4.properly set the drill bit

5.Apply proper pressure on the drill

Make sure the floors are dry to avoid slipping while working with your tool

Keep cords from resenting a tripping hazard.

Don’t carry your tool by the cord

Don't leave your tool somewhere where it can be knocked over.

Use appropriate PPE

Use a RCD (residual-current device)

List 2 servicing points

1.Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease

2.Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.

List as many specific safety rules regarding using the drill

Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

Hold tool firmly

Keep hands away from rotating parts

Do not leave the tool running. Operate the tool only when hand-held.

Don't touch the drill bit or the workpiece immediately after operation
